Leveraging on its experience in both fixed IPTV and Mobile TV based on the widely deployed SmartVision service platform, Thomson enables convergent services such as remote self-care, interactive barker channel or multidevice pay-per-season.
Thomson’s SmartVision platform enables a common management of subscribers and service packages for operators looking at easily deploying video services in both fixed and mobile environments.
Because the IPTV and Mobile TV services are managed from the same platforms, Thomson’s converged TV solution allows the IPTV self-care portal to be pushed on the mobile receiver. The end-user can then manage his IPTV account on his mobile device, order movies or schedule programs recording and later access this content through his IPTV set-top-box at home.
Thomson’s converged TV solution can be used to broadcast movie trailers via DVB-H on a dedicated interactive barker channel. When the enduser notices a movie he would like to watch, he presses a hot key on his mobile. The corresponding video will be available for watching through his IPTV set-top-box.
Operators can also create multi-device pay-per-season packages. The end-user subscribes to a serial of programmes that he may access indifferently on his TV set or on his mobile receiver.
