Using Thomson’s Cirpack telephony switches, operators can easily manage users who wish to access their fixed-line services whilst away, using WiFi/GSM phones or softphones on laptops when in a hotel lobby, an airport, a customer’s site or any WiFi hotspot. Users are automatically authenticated and all inbound calls to the user’s fixed line number will be routed to this device. All outbound calls will be placed with the user’s fixed line caller ID and pricing scheme. Turning off the mobile VoIP device reverts the user account to its initial configuration of wireline telephony.
Thomson’s Cirpack VoIP switches have proven interoperability with all major SIP softphones running on laptops or dual mode WiFi/GSM phones. The Cirpack platform also includes IMS mechanisms to ensure secured authentication and seamless roaming with automated “follow-me” of each subscriber’s home phone number to any WiFi hotspot. Deployed with third party components, Thomson’s Cirpack Wireless VoIP solution supports Virtual Call Continuity to maintain calls over the GSM radio when loosing WiFi signals.
As a wide range of dual mode WiFi/GSM phones are now hitting the market, Thomson’s Wireless VoIP solution allows operators to promote a multi-phone and multi-line service to their subscribers. Thomson’s Cirpack softswitch manages the primary line telephony services through the home gateway and handles each family member’s WiFi/GSM phone with their own personal DDI number. Thomson’s Cirpack platforms delivers unique features to each family member: ringing all WiFi phones on incoming calls to the fixed line, call transfer, call pick-up to answer incoming calls to any group member’s WiFi phone, 3 way conferencing, etc.
