What it does ?

The Cirpack Session Border Controller offers the security mechanisms to protect interactive communication networks from local loop access and interconnection threats. It includes protection from Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, topology hiding, policy enforcement, call admission control and encryption of communication.

As a demarcation point between networks, our SBC also offers interworking of signaling and media flows, including transcoding and aprotocol adaptation to various technical and national standards.

Our SBC benefits from our know-how in voice call switching, implementing advanced routing, traffic control, and portability features. Thus, it is a unique and simple solution for interconnection and transit function in multimedia networks.

Use cases

Services and facilities-based providers which offer IP interactive communication services (such as voice, video, unified messaging, conferencing, presence, gaming and multimedia collaboration) have to manage critical security and service assurance issues at the borders of their network to support residential and business customers.

Our Access SBC protects Internet Service Providers from the local loop users.

Our Interconnect SBC implements and protects SIP interconnection between SIP networks, for instance for long distance peering, or connection with Value Added Service operators.

It can be the case for ASP managing IVR. Our Interconnect SBC also connects PBX to secured and resilient links.

How it works

Our SBC is a unique security solution for SIP networks. Indeed, it is based on Cirpack IMS implementation and benefits from the software architecture of advanced standardization. Besides, it is applied to security and interconnection needs of today’s networks, whether they are IMS compliant or not.

Indeed, network administrators can configure advanced interconnections based on well defined IMS concepts and functions, i.e. PCSCF, IBCF, and BGCF.

Based on these functions, our SBC network can strengthen identity management and respond to growing control needs in both access and interconnect network, preventing intrusion and theft of service. Our SBC also includes a Media Proxy, a unique media plane server, providing RTP stream control and relay, IPv4/v6 conversion, codec adaptation and encryption. Based on the Cirpack Media Proxy, the media flows, through the network, are selected by the business policies defined by the network administrator.

What it does ?

The Cirpack IMS core network aims at implementing SIP-based rich communication services for telecom operators. It operates SIP-based voice, video and messaging services for subscribers over fixed or wireless broadband access. Subscribers can access services from a variety of devices such as mobile, tablet, PC, smartphone, and regular web browser.

All these functions are integrated on the same software platform to be provisioned and operated as a single product.

Use cases

Migration to full SIP network

As the migration of the networks from TDM to VoIP is accelerating, deploying the IMS Core network paves the way to have full VoIP networks where the SIP protocol is used on the access, the core network, as well as on the interconnect side.

Triple or quadruple play deployment

Our IMS core network offers to network operators a solution for interactive multimedia services, from regular voice calls to multimedia and enriched communications. It is completed with our Multimedia Telephony Application Server for complete service offer, and comes also with an OTT application server providing access to the service through a Web browser access and mobile client application.

How it works

The IMS core network is an Interrogating Call Session Control Function (I-CSCF), Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF), and a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) for fixed devices, also named User Profile Server Function (UPSF).

  • The HSS/UPSF is the IMS core database. It contains subscriber’s data such as public and private identities, authentication vector to authenticate the subscriber, registration state and filter criteria to invoke the application servers.
  • The I-CSCF is the IMS core network entry point. It selects the S-CSCF to register the subscriber depending on the HSS subscriber’s data, on the same way it routes an incoming call to the S-CSCF serving the subscriber.
  • The S-CSCF is the IMS core network registrar. Depending on the HSS subscriber’s data, it authenticates the subscriber and invokes the application servers for incomin g and outgoing calls.

The Cirpack Uniquity Centrex Application enables service providers to launch rapidly and easily an advanced telecommunication service for corporate users. It enables users to connect IP phones from many and access many innovative features.

The Uniquity Centrex application offers business call services such as hunting groups, call restrictions, secretary filtering. It also contains a messaging server, voice Conference Bridge, a programmable IVR, and a selfcare portal.

An optional Outlook plugin for click-to-dial feature and SIP call notifier, and printToFax plugin are also available for Uniquity Centrex end-users.

Use cases

Fixe mobile convergence for Business Centrex

The Uniquity Centrex application provides a fixed mobile convergence service to allow Uniquity centrex end-users to access to their services and be reachable, from a regular SIP phone and from a mobile phone as well. In this case, the Uniquity Centrex application manages users that are declared with a regular fixed phone number for their IP phone, and a mobile phone number as an external account number.

The advantage is that the end-users, the persons calling or called by the Uniquity centrex user only type or see the company extensions.

The requirement on the mobile network is to route calls from the mobile to the ACS platform, based on a defined prefix (i.e. #88) dialed by the end user.

The mechanism implemented by the ACS relies on:

  • linking to the same account the company extension number and a mobile phone number
  • providing the flexible SIP from and to header manipulation and routing, based on the end-user profile.

How it works

There are two ways for devices to access the Cirpack SIP Centrex Services:

the Cirpack SIP Centrex appliance, located in the customer premises

it uses SSL server to connect the IP phones to the SIP Centrex Application. It offers many facilities to the Service provider:

  • security: signaling and communication flows are encrypted through SSL
  • auto-provisioning: SIP devices are automatically provisioned using the SIP Centrex appliance, customer management interface and configuration server
  • high availability for voice calls: up to 5 voice links can be used with the appliance. If any issue such as IP connectivity or quality (packets loss and latency) occurs on the under usage link, the appliance will automatically switch the voice calls without ongoing call interruption to another available link
  • monitoring: using Cirpack SIP Centrex appliance, it is possible to monitor the IP link to the SIP Centrex application
  • WAN access through a SBC, for IP phones or softphones that can be running on a laptop or any other device such as smartphone (3G/4G or WIFI for internet access
